Essendon Football Club announced today that Blake Caracella and Jason Johnson have signed new two-year deals with the club.

The pair, who were to come out of contract at the end of this season, reached agreements with the club late last week.

Essendon chief executive Peter Jackson said the club was ecstatic to have secured the pair for another two years.

“We would like to think both these players will play a significant part in the long-term future of this club so we are naturally delighted to have signed them,” Jackson said.

“As our supporters are well aware, we have a very deep list at this club and players will attract the interest of rival clubs. It will be a long process but this club will work exceptionally hard to retain the services of the players that have served it so well to this stage of the season.”
