Rookie listed players Adam Ramanauskas and Heath Hocking will be elevated to the Essendon senior list for 2008 coach Matthew Knights announced at the 2007 Crichton Medal.
Essendon was given special permission from the AFL to place Ramanauskas, 26, on the rookie list during his two-year battle with cancer.
He has played 116 games with the Bombers, including the 2000 premiership, and kicked 56 goals.
Knights told the playing group his decision on Ramanauskas on Wednesday describing it as one of his best moments in football.
Hocking, 19, came to Essendon via the 2005 rookie draft and made his debut for the Bombers this year.
Essendon premiership player, Gary O'Donnell, has accepted an offer as assistant coach, focusing on all defensive aspects of the game, in Matthew Knights' new coaching department. O'Donnell, who has been an assistant coach with the Bombers for the past three years, said he was excited about the 2008 season and looking forward to working with Knights.
