11. David Zaharakis:

David Zaharakis didn't have the season he would have hoped for. The speedy midfielder struggled to find consistency carrying three separate injuries during the season. His most recent injury, a torn posterior crucial ligament, saw him miss six weeks and lose valuable game time. The 25- year- old’s best performance this season came against Gold Coast in round 21 where he gathered 25 disposals, six marks and laid six tackles.

12. Mark Baguley:

Mark Baguley was one of the club's most consistent performers in 2015. The low key defender kept some of the best small forwards in the competition at bay, with his skillful intercept marking and run off half back. Drafted as a mature age rookie, the  28-year-old has quickly become one of the most important assets of the defensive group. Baguley's courage and tenacity was awarded at this year's Crichton Medal as he picked up the 'Adam Ramanauskas Most Courageous Award' for the second consecutive year. The Bombers are set to benefit from Baguley's strong presence for the next two years after he signed a contract extension that will see him remain in the red and black until the end of 2017.

13. Adam Cooney:

Adam Cooney’s debut season in the red and black started off with a bang as he kicked three goals in the opening round against Sydney. However, the veteran’s year would be riddled with injury as he managed only 10 games for the year. The Brownlow Medalist burst out of the blocks early giving Bomber fans something to cheer about. Cooney suffered a season ending injury in round 19 and will now set his sights on a more consistent 2016.

14. Jason Ashby:

Jason Ashby earned senior selection early in the season, as he was chosen to play against Hawthorn in round two. In what was only the 21-year-old’s sixth career game, Ashby looked calm in the contest and presented swift pace off the half backline. The former Oakleigh Charger played an additional four games presenting signs of a very promising future. Ashby’s final few games in the VFL averaged 21 disposals, four tackles and three inside 50’s.

15. Courtenay Dempsey:

Courtenay Dempsey was another one of Essendon’s defenders who would make the switch to the forward line in 2015. Despite struggling with form early in the season, Dempsey was able to spark a mid season purple patch as part of Essendon VFL’s forward line, kicking seven goals in two weeks. The ability to change up his role saw Dempsey elevated to the senior side once more, where he kicked four goals from a handful of opportunities.
