Mark Thompson is looking forward to sitting down with the club before the end of the week to work out if he remains at Essendon in 2015.

Thompson will take part in a number of review meetings over the next few days before sitting down with the club to decide his future.

“I don’t think so,” Thompson said when queried about senior coaching at another club on AFL 360.

“I will probably meet with them towards Friday, we have exit meetings the next two or three days.

“It works better that way other wise it will just drag on.”

Thompson said he had enjoyed his season in charge of the club and is confident it was a successful year.

“I think probably I tried to do too much because there was a short amount of time and that frustrated me a bit early doors,” he said.

“What I wanted to happen e couldn’t get done because people didn’t know what I was talking about or we didn’t have the people around.

“When I stopped worrying about that it was ok."

Thompson feels Saturday night’s loss to North Melbourne at the MCG was his last game as senior coach of an AFL side.

“Possibly and probably,” he said.

“I think that is why I was so disappointed because I didn’t want it to finish.

“It is still churning a bit.

“It was a game that was very important so if they stuck to their task they culdhave won and anything could happen.”
