In the last two matches since Matthew Lloyd has returned from injury he has collectively kicked 11 goals. Not a bad effort by anyone's standards but Lloyd is still not satisfied. Although the dual Coleman Medallist is pleased at being consistent in front of goal against West Coast and Sydney he is disappointed the team didn't return from Sydney with the four points and now have their backs up against the wall again heading into the match against the Kangaroos.

Q. The roller coaster ride continued on Saturday night. You led at half-time, but the second half was not that good?
A. We are really, really disappointed - as we seem to be every second week. Sheeds really spoke about this in his after match how inconsistent we have been this season as a team and as individuals. And how it takes a bad loss for us to get up and a good win for us to relax a little bit. We got back in the game in the second quarter but after half-time we were terrible and really let everyone down.

Q. Sheeds would not have been too happy with the team's performance in the second half?
A. He was bitterly disappointed as we all were. He had a fair bit to say to a lot of players who would be hurting. He said he wants us back at the club this week ready to tackle the game on Friday night. The whole team needs to look at themselves because we are falling away from the top eight.

Q. Going into half-time I was confident the team could go on with it but we came out after half-time and looked exhausted. Did you pick up on anything early in that third quarter that things weren't quite right?
A. Like you I was really confident at half-time. We thought if we kicked the first couple we would be right. They kicked the first two or three and they were linking up with handballs and running really hard. We had turnovers and the errors we made really hurt us.

Q. They had amazing accuracy in front of goal. They kicked 21 goals and seven behinds.
A. They have done some great things with players. One positive that I am looking at is that we are a young list at the moment. Guys like Goodes, Fosdike and Bolton have been around for a few years they have had some hard years and now they are playing good football. We just have to hang in there. We probably have 10 solid contributors every week and down from there you are not sure what you are going to get. We need guys to keep improving throughout the season.

Q. Mark Johnson was clearly our best performer against the Swans - he worked tirelessly for four quarters. I also thought Scott Lucas gave us something and also Mark Mercuri?
A. Mark Johnson played with a lot of heart and passion. It is something Sheeds bought up after the game - if more of us played like he did we would have gone a lot better. Scott Lucas has been working really hard and training hard and really reaping the benefits. He is really coming into some good form. Mercs' last month has been fantastic. He fell a way a little bit in the second half against Sydney but he is really showing some good signs. When his body is feeling better I am sure he will be able to run out games a lot better as the season unfolds.

Q. We get back to our home ground on Friday night when we take on the Kangaroos - surely that will give us a bit more confidence heading into the match?
A. If we drop this one we are in a bit of trouble. The Kangaroos don't have a heap of stars but they play with a lot of determination and hunger, like they always have. If we don't match that they will knock us off for sure. We have to play like we did against the Eagles otherwise we won't match them.

Q. In last year's game against the Kangaroos, they got across the line by about nine points and their mid-field really destroyed us. Our match committee will be looking at that in terms of who comes in and the matchups?
A. Simpson and Harvey in particular are week in week out getting 30 plus possessions and really being influential. It is definitely one game where we will have to match them.

Q. Just looking at your own performance you have been consistent in your two return matches. You kicked six against West Coast and five against Sydney?
A. I am disappointed not to win the match but all you can do is try and finish out a game. I was pleased to kick three late goals. It was good at the end of the game to contribute to the side. I feel I have been fairly consistent this year and I hope to continue it.
