Essendon Football Club wishes Tiwi Bomber AnthonyTipungwuti all the best this weekend as he lines up for the Gippsland Power in theTAC Cup Grand Final against the Oakleigh Chargers.
Anthony, from the Tiwi Islands, was amember of the Tiwi Bomber side that took out the NTFL premiership earlier thisyear.
Gippsland coach Nick Stevens saidTipungwuti had improved dramatically this season after missing selection inlast year’s national and rookie draft.
“He’s had an outstanding year… his yearcompared to last year has just been first class,” Stevens said.
“He’s worked really hard on his fitness, he’sgot himself in really good shape and his skills are as good as I’ve seen for akid of that age.”
“I compare him to a Chris Yarran or anEddie Betts at the same age, I think this boy has got talent and I really hopethat he gets the opportunity because he’s worked hard and deserves a chance atAFL football.”
Essendon Football Club has a long and proudhistory supporting the Tiwi Bombers and nurturing some of the most excitingfootball talent in Australia.
