In an AFL first, Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce its inner sanctum documentary, 'Bombers in Boulder' proudly presented by Antler Luggage, will premiere on FOX FOOTY this Friday night at 6.30pm.

‘Bombers in Boulder’ follows the players on their grueling two week high altitude training camp in the picturesque mid-west town of Boulder, Colorado.

The camp pushed the players to breaking point as they battled a heavy training load and some of the most brutal winter conditions Boulder has experienced.

Jobe Watson, Brendon Goddard, Dyson Heppell, David Zaharakis and Heath Hocking provide an intriguing insight into the mental and physical benefits of the taxing camp.

“You certainly don’t win premierships in December, but players can lose a season by not getting the training done,” Watson said.

“I think anytime you face adversity and you come through it, it gives you confidence the next time you face similar challenges you then know you can overcome them.”

The captain admitted the Switzerland trail hike was one of the most challenging elements of the camp.

“The conditions were the toughest of the camp, it was a real mental challenge. The five and a half hour trail, the snow and the incredibly windy conditions we faced made it really difficult.”

Antler Managing Director Sonney Roth said he was delighted to be involved in the ‘Bombers in Boulder’ documentary.

“We loved the concept from the outset and Antler is proud to be a part of this fantastic documentary,” Roth said.

“It’s not uncommon for football clubs to head overseas for high altitude training, but this documentary provides footy fans with fantastic access and insight into what players go through to prepare for an AFL season.”

The ‘Bombers in Boulder’ documentary is proudly presented by Antler Luggage and premieres on Fox Footy, tomorrow night at 6.30pm.
