Essendon midfielder Kyle Langford has been charged with rough conduct against Sydney's Chad Warner in Thursday night's loss at the SCG.

The second-quarter incident was assessed by the Match Review Officer as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.

It was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence, but Langford can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

No other charges were laid against the Bombers from the clash.
