Essendon has the daunting task of overcoming West Coast's mid-field if they are any chance of defeating the second spot side. The mid-field led by skipper Ben Cousins, Chris Judd, Ashley Sampi, Daniel Kerr and Michael Gardiner in the ruck is one of the most dangerous centre lines in the competition. Bomber coach Kevin Sheedy is optimistic his team's mid-field has got the ability and talent to overcome the Eagles.
