Essendon defender Michael Hibberd’s standout 2013 season will come under the spotlight at the Crichton Medal on October 2.
Hibberd’s career best 2013 season is widely acknowledged throughout the competition with the dashing half back providing important run from defence for the Bombers.
Hibberd was one of just three Bombers to play all 22 games this season with an average of 24 disposals a game, up from 18 disposals a game in 2012.
The 23-year-old was given the club’s famous number one guernsey at the start of the season and wore it with pride throughout his best season since making his debut against Gold Coast in 2011.
The 2011 pre-season draft selection was important with his run out of defensive 50 becoming a cornerstone to the Bombers strong start to the season.
Hibberd’s consistency was unmatched with his disposal efficiency of 79 precent all-important in setting up the team’s foray’s forward.
