In the lead up to Friday night’s highly anticipated Crichton Medal evening, BomberTV catches up with General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton to preview the hot favourites set to stake their claim for the best and fairest medal.

Reviewing the season's of utility Brent Stanton and young gun Dyson Heppell, Hamilton said both players were strong chances to poll well.

“Stants is a regular top five performer so I definitely expect him to be in the mix. He has had a really good, consistent season and only missed two games so I expect him to be right up there,” Hamilton said.

“He has played better football this year than the previous years and he has always polled well. Stants kicked more goals this year, was a regular ball winner and had a lot of impact, particularly in the second half of the year. He is a big chance come Friday night.”

Hamilton said it would be a fairytale finish for young gun Heppell should he claim the Crichton Medal in his debut season.

“A first year boy – and what a season he has had. He has played every game and has shown maturity beyond the years with the way he goes about things,” he said.

“His balance and poise has been wonderful and to see him come on to our list and develop over the course of the year has been terrific.”

In tomorrow's edition, Hamilton will review the year's of Dustin Fletcher and Paddy Ryder ahead of Friday's Crichton Medal evening.
