A SPECIAL PIECE OF ESSENDON HISTORY
Last weekend a record 106-years in the making was created – Matthew Lloyd became the greatest goal-kicker in the history of this club. Lloyd notched his 576th goal to take him past the previous record set by club legend Simon Madden. Essendon has produced two spectacular pieces of limited-edition memorabilia to commemorate the occasion. As promoted on the Footy Show last night, the first piece is framed guernsey signed by both Madden and Lloyd and accompanied by some magnificent photographs.

Occasionally football teams have those days where nothing goes right. Where they just don’t give a yelp and are seemingly helpless to turn things around. There was a prime example of such a day in Round 3, 1999 when Essendon managed just three goals against the West Coast Eagles. And in terms of disastrous performances, Essendon’s Round 7 loss to Richmond this season ranks right up there. This weekend provides them with the chance to set the record straight.
