Davey made his debut for the Bombers in 2007 after being taken by Kevin Sheedy in the 2006 pre-season draft.
“I am really excited, it has been seven years now and getting the opportunity to play 100 games at Essendon is great,” Davey said.
“I am sure my boys will enjoy running out this week.”
Davey has four boys who will now all be eligible under the father/son rule to be selected for the Bombers in the future.
“There are four of them so hopefully we can get a couple of them playing with Essendon in the future,” he said.
“They would be too short (to make up the whole forward line), they would need to get a bit taller but we will see how they go.”
Davey said he felt a great honour in playing 100 matches for a club with as much history as Essendon.
“It means a lot, it took a while for me to get into the AFL system and it was a great opportunity from Essendon picking me up,”
“Its exciting to get one hundred games with this great club and hopefully get a win this week.”
The speedy forward pocket has kicked 120 goals from his 99 games in the red and black.
