Essendon’s biggest name players brought joy to a number of sick children today visiting the Royal Children’s Hospital for the Good Friday Appeal.

Captain Jobe Watson was joined by Michael Hurley, Jake Melksham, Paddy Ryder, Courtenay Dempsey, David Myers, Michael Hibberd, Cale Hooker, Jake Carlisle and Nick Kommer who all took time out to spend quality time with patients and families for the annual Easter fundraising appeal.

The Bombers’ visited children from a number of various wards at the hospital while handing out gift bags including footballs, tee-shirts, caps, pencil cases and more.

Key midfielder Jake Melksham said the hospital visit was a humbling experience.

“It is always important to be able to give back to the community and today was the least we could do to try to bring a smile on the children's faces,” Melksham said.

Essendon Football Club wishes all its members and supporters a very happy and safe Easter period.
