Boulder Bombers take part in final session
Essendon players headed on the club’s high altitude training camp to Boulder, Colorado have taken part in their final training session in Melbourne for 2014.
Jobe Watson, Cale Hooker, Michael Hurley and Michael Hibberd took part in the session on Sunday morning ahead of jetting out to Colorado.
The quartet is set for an intense two weeks of training in altered conditions as part of the 2015 pre-season campaign.
On Sunday morning they took part in a skills session as well as a number of 400 metres run throughs to finalise preparations for the camp.
It is the third consecutive trip to Boulder for the club after taking a select group of players in 2012, a larger contingent in 2013 and now just the four players in 2014.
The group will participate in a number of hikes, hill runs, skills sessions and training exercises during their two-week stay in Boulder.
“Based on our profiling we are confident that this group will get some great benefits from the trip,” High Performance Manager Justin Crow said earlier this week.
“These players will get the opportunity to really concentrate on their fitness in an elite training setting at altitude which will enable them to build a base for the rest of the year.”
