Laycock was unable to take a trick during the pre-season, missing the majority through injury. In his on-going battle for fitness, Laycock had a knee arthroscope, followed by an ankle arthroscope and finally a thigh injury that kept him out of the early games of the season.
However, Laycock was back in action for the first time this season on Saturday where he collected six possessions and rucked well during the three-quarters he played in Bendigo’s 42-point defeat to the Northern Bullants.
If Laycock does return to the senior side this weekend, it will be a welcome return for the Bombers, lending support to David Hille in the ruck against the Tigers big man duo of Troy Simmonds and Greg Stafford.
