Essendon ruckman David Hille has been suspended for one match after being found guilty of striking by the match review panel today. Hille will miss this weekend’s match of the round against the Western Bulldogs but will return for the Anzac Day clash with Collingwood the following week.

Hille was reported for striking Mitchell Clark of Brisbane in the final quarter of last Saturday’s match against Brisbane. The review panel deemed Hille’s actions as reckless, low impact, in play and high.

The offence constituted a base points tally of 125. Hille had residual points of 43.75 points and another 12.5 to add on having been suspended in the past three years giving him a total of 181.25 points that equated a one-match ban. Hille will plead guilty to the charge.

""The players get disappointed at themselves when they react to those type of issues in games and most players do. They get a little annoyed with themselves,"" Kevin Sheedy explained before training today.

""And most players that go up always get in for a little indiscretion and those sorts of things but if that is the case then we will just keep playing Paddy Ryder.

""I’ve spoken to him already so we will leave it at that,"" Sheedy said.

Meanwhile, James Hird looks set to return for the Bombers this weekend with Sheedy declaring him a very good chance.

""Hird will probably play. He thinks so himself. He has trained already this morning and will train again today,"" he explained.
