Fox Footy is celebrating the career of Jobe Watson today.
The Bombers Captain has played 200 games for the Club since making his debut in 2003.
Here are some of his memorable games that will be featured on Fox Footy today.
Fremantle v Essendon - Round 3, 2013
There was an intense spotlight on the Bombers as they headed west to take on the Dockers. On a slippery night, Essendon was slow out of the blocks and trailed by 37 points during the second quarter.
But on the back of 20 possessions from Watson, the Bombers rallied and kicked seven unanswered goals after the break to record a memorable four point win.
Essendon v Melbourne - Round 2, 2013
In one of the Bombers most impressive displays in recent seasons, 38 possessions from Watson led Essendon to a 148 point win over Melbourne. The Captain also kicked three goals.
Essendon v North Melbourne - Round 1, 2012
The Bombers opened their 2012 season with a two-point win over the Kangaroos. Watson collected 28 possessions, took ten marks and kicked a goal.
In a high scoring encounter Essendon had 34 scoring shots. The side led by 22 points at three quarter time before the Kangaroos got back into the match. A mark to Dustin Fletcher late in the game helped the Bombers secure the win.
2012 Brownlow Medal
The Bombers skipper had at least 20 possessions in all of his 22 games in 2012. By round four, he already had eight votes, including a best on ground performance in round two against Port Adelaide. He then polled in six straight games from round six to round 11. Included in that run were two consecutive 36-disposal efforts against Brisbane and West Coast. He picked up maximum votes in rounds 13 and 14, the latter being on the back of a 30 disposal, three-goal contribution against the Western Bulldogs. Watson finished the count with 30 votes including six best on grounds. He averaged 29 possessions a game and kicked 20 goals.
North Melbourne v Essendon, Round 17 2010
In a three point Essendon win, Watson’s 38 disposals (eight more than any other player on the field) and two goals were instrumental in the final outcome.
Kyle Hardingham kicked four goals in his first game for the Bombers, but neither side was able to kick away. Jason Winderlich and David Zaharakis were also prominent but it was Watson who proved the difference.
