Essendon VFL listed key defender James Ferry has been selected to play for Victoria in the annual State League Game against Western Australia.

Ferry was named in the squad last year but withdrew one week prior to the match after suffering a knee injury.

Second year players Alex Boyse and Nick Hind have been named as emergencies, capping a sharp rise for both given they’ve played less than ten games of VFL football. 

There will be plenty of familiar faces playing, with nine ex-AFL players representing Victoria, and the WAFL squad includes former Bomber Leroy Jetta.

The game will be held at North Port Oval on Saturday and will be televised live on Channel 7 from 2pm.
