James Hird is continuing to show signs of improvement ahead of Essendon’s clash with North Melbourne on Friday night.

The Bombers Coach was back at the club this morning, before he returned home for more rest.

“He’s very much better than yesterday,” Club Doctor Bruce Reid said.

“Obviously he’s gone very easy today, you’ve got to respect concussion.”

Hird will be monitored throughout the week before final approval is given for him to take his place in the Coaches box.

“His X-Rays and scans are normal but he had a significant concussion so we’ll just see how he comes up,” Dr Reid said.

“At this stage he’s 80 per cent, 90 per cent.”

The coaching staff is continuing with its usual preparation ahead of Friday’s match.

“It’s pretty normal, we’ll pick a team now and then just go away and try and get the side ready and try and get our tactics ready to beat North Melbourne,” Hird said.
