Patrick Ambrose has crossed the line first in the Bombers final time-trial of 2015.

Brent Stanton and David Zaharakis rounded out the place getters in the two-kilometre circuit around Princes Park.

“I thought we ran really well today, we’ve been doing a lot of football training so it can be a little hard to gauge how we’re going to go in a time-trial like this but we ran some really good times,” Physical Performance Manager Justin Crow said.

“I’m hoping that after the Christmas break with a little bit more training and a chance to freshen up we’ll run even better.”

The Bombers have one more session to go before they take a break.

Ambrose played 16 games last season before a shoulder injury brought an early end to his campaign.

He and his teammates have had a few weeks training together as a full squad and will continue their build up to the NAB Challenge when they return in early January.

“We’ve done a lot more training than we have in the past, the skills have been building up really well, we’ve been getting a lot of running in those drills and we’re certainly tracking along at higher volumes than we ever have before,” Crow said

“We’ve got about six to seven weeks leading in to the NAB Challenge when we get back in January.

“In that time we’ll just keep building our volumes so they exceed our hardest match.”
