David Myers will make his return through the VFL tomorrow after dislocating his shoulder almost 13 weeks ago.

The midfielder went down just three minutes into the Bombers season.

“It’s fantastic, hopefully he can get through the game without another injury,” VFL Coach Hayden Skipworth said.

“If we can get some minutes into him through the midfield and across half back and he’s in the mix for AFL selection next week, that will be a great result.”

After Heath Hocking and Nick Kommer played on restricted game time in last weekend’s gritty win, Skipworth said the two will be given free reign against Williamstown.

“They will both be playing full games this weekend.

“Kommer played three quarters last week, he will be rotated pretty heavily over the four quarters, but he will certainly be on full game time.

“Heath Hocking will be unlimited this week, so full minutes in the midfield, and hopefully he crashes and bashes and wins a lot of ball for us.”

Essendon and Williamstown sit 2^nd and 3^rd on the VFL ladder respectively with just percentage separating the sides, making this an old fashioned ‘8-point game’.

“They’re certainly the benchmark of the competition, have been for a fair while with Box Hill and Port Melbourne.

“It’s a good test to see where we’re at as a footy team, our form of late has been excellent, so hopefully we can come home with the win.”

Williamstown forward Sam Dunell will be an important man to nullify if the Dons are to get over the line, with the former AFL-listed player booting 19 goals this season.

“He’s been fantastic this year for them,” Skipworth said.

“He’s a medium sized forward so we will have guys like Ashby or Hardingham that will hopefully match up well against him.”
