Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce more than 60,000 members have ‘donned the sash’ this season.
The Club ticked over the milestone today, with Dyson Heppell and Kevin Sheedy presenting the 60,000thmembership to the Clark family.
“It’s an amazing feeling running out in front of a stadium full of red and black and playing for our fans,” Heppell said.
“We haven’t performed to the levels we would have liked this season, but the players love playing for the members and hopefully we can reward them with some exciting footy in the coming weeks.”
“Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen the future of our footy Club and I’m excited about this group of young players coming through and I’m sure our members are too.”
Essendon Football Club CEO Xavier Campbell said to pass 60,000 members for successive seasons showed the Club has the best support in the league.
“We are truly grateful to our members for their ongoing passion and commitment, both on match-days and in their support of our off-field endeavours,” Campbell said.
“The Club is in the midst of a challenging period, but our players, coaches and staff, take comfort in the loyalty and support of our fantastic members.”
“As a Club, we pride ourselves on making our members’ experience as fulfilling as possible, and we are determined to repay their faith with on-field success in the years to come.”
