A spirited first half from the Bombers on the road wasn’t enough to hold the Swans at bay as the home side run away with the game at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.
Once again the Fantasy scoring was strong from our boys in the red and black combining for 1588 to hold onto their title as the second highest Fantasy scoring team this year. The lads rank third for Fantasy tons for, scoring 4.43 per game.
The two best Bombers, David Zaharakis (MID, $532,000) and Zach Merrett (FWD/MID, $557,000), scored 122 and 113 respectively to remain the third and fourth highest scoring players of the season thus far. They, along with James Kelly (DEF/MID, $501,000), look to be the key premium options worth considering an upgrade to – or as good Essendon supporting Fantasy coaches, enjoying their continued form.
Some advice last was may have been off the mark. I suggested to trade Matt Dea (DEF, $307,000) following his scores of 48 and 38. The former Tiger dropped his highest score of the season to see a $7K price rise, taking his breakeven to 49 meaning he may be in for another cash injection this week. Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuiti (DEF/FWD, $302,000) also performed well above his recent showings to bring his breakeven to a very achievable 44.
It is suggested to hold onto the duo this week however the boys could have it tough against the top of the ladder Kangaroos who are also ranked as the third hardest Fantasy team to score against.
The form cash cow coming out of Tullamarine is Mitch Brown (DEF/FWD, $325,000). Backing up from his 96 against Carlton, Brown knocked up his first Fantasy ton of his career racking up 102 thanks to 23 disposals and nine marks against the Swans. Brown’s breakeven is a low nine and is projected for a $13K price rise this week. I’m tipping it could be a lot more if he can keep up his recent form.
If you’re after a cheap defender, Courtenay Dempsey (DEF, $346,000) has scored 103 and 94 in the last two rounds. Consider the running defender if you think he can continue to get the nice +6s (mark and kick) running out of the backline.
