In recent years the Essendon small brigade have been showing off their aerial talents - Joel Reynolds, Adam Ramanauskas, Mark Johnson and former Bomber Gary Moorcroft are a few of the players who have spent time in the air leaping for marks. The Essendon supporters who stayed until the end of the Round 7 match against Richmond were rewarded when Mark Johnson took a screamer in the goal square in the dying seconds of the game.

Johnson's grab was one of the best in recent years but Bomber supporters still believe the mark Gary Moorcroft took in Round 14 2001 against the Bulldogs was even better. In fact 78% of people who voted in last week's weekly poll said Moorcrofts grab was the better mark. Moorcroft was awarded the Mark of the Year for the grab and time will tell us if Johnson is awarded the same honour for his mark later this season.

Here is what some of the Essendon fans had to say:

Tim Bristow from Wagga Wagga says: I was watching the match against Richmond on the weekend and could see there was no way we were going to win so I turned the TV off but I was lucky enough to turn the TV back on and I saw that good mark he took in the goal square. It was the only positive to come out of that performance. But while it was a good mark I still thought that Gary Moorcroft's mark was the better mark because it was more spectacular.

Josh from Melbourne says: Although Johnson’s mark was very good, not a lot could beat Moorcroft's Mark Johnson would be lucky to win the mark of the year.

Kaitlin from Victoria says: Johno's was a great mark but Slash's would be hard to beat any day! We miss you Gary!

Karl from Jingili says: Moorcroft's mark will stand the test of time and be looked back on in years to come as we look back on Jezza's of 1970 - Mark of the century!

Billie Preston from Ocean Grove says: Johnno's by far- the skills needed to take both marks were fairly e even, but Johnno didn't get injured when he landed. Everyone says that Moorcroft's mark was better, but that is only because Johnno's hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves.

Jeanette Corder from Upwey says: The game was so bad and yet he still managed to come up with something special. That is perseverance and I commend him for that.
