Essendon Football Club's fantastic Hall of Fame was this week made an accredited museum, in a ceremony marking International Museum's Day.

The Hall of Fame at Essendon Football Club is now one of just 21 accredited museums in Victoria.

Accreditation as a museum means the Hall of Fame and Essendon Football Club has made a commitment to the continuous improvement of its collection.

"It is a fantastic accolade for the Essendon Football Club Hall of Fame and I was thrilled to learn we had been accredited," Hall of Fame curator Barb Cullen said.

"It's nice to have all the hard work rewarded. I have so many volunteers come down and help me out on a regular basis, this is also a tribute to them.

"I also have had great support from the Board of Trustees and the management of the essendon Football Club."

The Hall of Fame is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10am until 5pm and on Sunday from noon until 4pm.

The Hall of Fame will be open on Saturday, June 10th during the club's VFL game against the Northern Bullants at Windy Hill. it will be closed on June 11th.

The cost of entry is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
