The country game at the MCG on Saturday afternoon saw some good old fashioned football, but continuing the Bombers’ trend this season, some decent Fantasy scoring despite not getting the result.

The Bombers combined for 1656 Fantasy points compared to Geelong’s 1528. Five Essendon players notched up triple figures, while Joel Selwood was the top scoring Cat with 97.

Racking up 127 points, Zach Merrett (FWD/MID, $590,000) is in white hot form. The third best player this season posted his fourth score over 119 to jump up another $25K in value making it quite hard for those without the dual position player to get him in their team.

Once again David Zaharakis (MID, $529,000) got the job done with 34 touches and 112 points. With Merrett, he is one of four players to score over 100 in each game this season.

If there is a trend worth jumping on, it’s Orazio Fantasia (DEF, $376,000). With a name suited to Fantasy footy, scores of 71, 100 and 120 look pretty good for a bloke priced under $400K. A few coaches will be looking to bring in a defender this round and Fantasia should be at the top of the list for value. His breakeven of 12 means he will be adding plenty of cash over the next few weeks and with the Magpies and Blues coming up in the next fortnight, there’s plenty of dollars to be made!

Our biggest cash cows keep rising in value. Matt Dea (DEF, $287,000) is fifth on the list for biggest price rises in 2016, adding $117K. Zaharakis is in sixth with $114K and Darcy Parish (MID, $361,000) is in ninth with a $101K increase. Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (DEF/FWD, $256,000) is up $94K. With their breakevens so low, we need to hold for a few more weeks of price rises.

James Kelly (MID, $497,000) has flown under the radar this season. Owned by half a per cent of the competition, he hasn’t missed a beat averaging 102.3 with a low score of 91. Hopefully he adds DEF status after this round. His ownership will sky rocket then.

The Bombers currently sit third on the list for Fantasy points for this season with 1677 per game. They have proven to be quite restrictive, giving up 1549, making them the ninth hardest Fantasy opponent. In round five, the Dons take on the Magpies in the traditional Anzac Day game. Collingwood have given up the most points this season. Make sure you enter a Match Day team and fill it with Bombers at fantasy.afl.com.au or via the free smartphone app.
