Jason Winderlich is on his feet and recovering well from a serious neck injury sustained last August, returning to the NEC Hangar for a facility tour on Saturday morning.
The 40-year-old and his family were welcomed back by Charlie Italia of the Club's Past Players and Officials Association for the tour, with an opportunity to watch the side's main training session.
Winderlich reunited with several ex-teammates on the day including current player Jayden Laverde and Coaches Brent Stanton, Michael Hurley and Ricky Dyson.
Undergoing surgery for a broken neck and spinal cord damage in August after a freak on-field accident at local level, Winderlich has taken the road to recovery in stride over the last six months and is in good spirits along with his family.
Winderlich was a fan favourite over 13 seasons at the Bombers, booting 83 goals from 129 senior games with the Club.
