Joe Daniher is the first to admit his goal kicking isn’t perfect.
The 21 year old is working hard to build consistency with his approach to goal.
Only 42 games in to his career, Daniher is relying on repetition to improve his conversion.
“It’s not going to improve over night” Daniher told SEN.
His famous footballing name has ensured a continual spotlight is shone on the 2013 father-son pick’s progress.
“He’s only been in the game for three years , he’s yet to play 50 games so he’s still young.” Essendon Coach James Hird said.
Daniher is the third youngest player in the AFL’s top 15 goal kickers.
He has managed 31 goals this season with six games still to be played.
Since late last year, he has been working with Essendon’s all-time leading goal kicker Matthew Lloyd to improve his technique.
“I have a clear routine and a clear process in place,” he said.
“I’m aware it won’t give me 100% results week in week out.
“If I keep chipping away and working over time I believe it is something that will become really consistent for me.”
The tall forward had a break out game against Brisbane Lions earlier this season when he kicked six goals.
He was also central to the Bombers win over Melbourne when he kicked five goals, including a crucial set shot late in the match.
