Adam McPhee, Andrew Welsh and Ben Jolley visited Mudgeeraba Special School - the largest special school in Queensland. It was great experience, according to Essendon defender Andrew Welsh. ""It is always good to meet these kids that are facing some challenges. We had some fun kicking the footy around and bouncing on the trampoline and it put a smile on their face,"" Welsh said.
Later in the day a number of Essendon players visited the Gold Coast Hospital.
Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy today acknowledged discipline had been a problem for the club last season, saying a number of players no longer playing at Essendon had let down former captain James Hird. Sheedy spoke to the media prior to Essendon’s training session at Carrara on day one of its four-day community camp on the Gold Coast.
