Essendon will be without small forward Matt Guelfi for the Bombers’ final game of the 2024 season against Collingwood.

Guelfi was subbed out of Essendon’s loss to GWS in the second quarter with a hamstring strain and GM of Performance Daniel McPherson has confirmed the 26-year-old will be unavailable to play against the Pies on Friday night.

McPherson also said there would be no other players from the current injury list available for round 24’s fixture.

“It’s disappointing to not have ‘Guelf’ available for Friday night’s game,” McPherson said.

“His hamstring injury is only low-grade, which would typically see him miss only 2-3 weeks, so while it’s unfortunate that he won’t play on the weekend, it will have no impact on his off-season training."
