The Bombers have re-signed exciting key forward Emily Gough for another two seasons, with the 19-year-old now on board until at least the end of 2027.

Drafted from the Sandringham Dragons ahead of the 2024 season, Gough made her senior debut in round one against St Kilda and has quickly become an integral part of the Bombers’ forward line.

Since joining the red and black, Gough has impressed with her high-intensity work ethic across the ground.

Amidst injuries to key players last year, the versatile teenager stepped into several roles in her debut season (including as a makeshift ruck), proving her adaptability and team-first mindset to the playing group and coaching panel.

“I love developing and pushing myself to be better, and I get the opportunity to do that here at Essendon,” Gough said.

“We have a great team and incredible coaches, so I’m excited to see what we can achieve over the next few seasons.”

Outgoing AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Georgia Harvey said Gough’s re-signing is exciting news for the entire AFLW program, who add to the plethora of young talent already recommitted to the Club.

“We’re continually impressed by what Emily brings to the team and the Club,” Harvey said.

“Her versatility on the field and her positive attitude makes her a huge asset.

“The entire playing group and coaching staff are thrilled to have her recommit, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow both on and off the field.”
