AFL Chief Executive Andrew Demetriou said he wished to thank all parties for their work in ensuring that a key match on the calendar had been able to retain its traditional home at the MCG.
""The Anzac Day match is one of the highlights of our AFL season and football has always done an outstanding job in recognising the contribution of our service men and women in years gone by,"" Mr Demetriou said.
""We are delighted the MCG will again be ready to host the return to football at the ground after the Commonwealth Games and would like to thank the Victorian State Government and Grocon for their work in this area,"" he said.
Please note that no date has yet been advised of when tickets for the Anzac Day match will go on sale.
