Injury news: Ridley to miss, Reid, Jones ruled out

Unfortunately in his second game after returning from a back injury, Zach Reid suffered a hamstring strain in the first quarter of Essendon’s VFL clash against Werribee which will see the 20-year-old ruled out for six weeks.

Harrison Jones reported back soreness late last week, with further medical testing showing a stress issue in the young key forward’s back.

GM of Performance Daniel McPherson says both Reid and Jones will now be placed into conservative rehabilitation programs.

Defender Jordan Ridley will also miss Saturday night's match with concussion.

VFLW keeps the good times rolling

Four wins in a row has left Essendon's VFLW side sitting fifth on the ladder overall.

The side outlasted a strong Southern Saints side to take home the four points at the NEC Hangar.

AFLW listed players Amelia Radford and Steph Wales had strong performances in the win, with the pair having 26 and 19 disposals respectively.
