In one of the biggest events on the Australian sporting calendar, Essendon has gone down to arch rivals Collingwood in today’s Anzac Day blockbuster. In front of a capacity crowd at the new look MCG the Magpies got on top of the Bombers in the second half of the match to win the game by 17-points.
Champion Essendon full back Dustin Fletcher has signed a new two-year deal with the Bombers that will keep him with the Club until at least the end of the 2008 season. Fletcher turns 31 next month and this latest contract will ensure he finishes his career as a one-club player.
