With trade week over, Essendon’s list management team is turning its attention to the out of contract players still attached to the Club.

There are a small number of players yet to be re-signed.

The Club will need to weigh up how many picks it wants to take into next month's National Draft.

“We now know our draft position so that’s important,” Essendon List and Recruiting Manager Adrian Dodoro said.

“We can now sit down with John (Worsfold) next week and look at the guys that are out of contract at the moment and see how many draft picks we want, come up with our strategy, what our needs are in the draft.

“That will determine our list for next year so still a lot of work to be done.”

The Dons have already secured one important player with Brent Stanton re-signing with the Club today.

“Brent is just a great Essendon person, fantastic player,” Dodoro said.

“Hopefully he can get himself to 300 games, I’m sure he will.

“He’s one of those guys that we should just celebrate.”
