The Gabba has been confirmed as the venue for Essendon's match against Sydney on Saturday night.

The round 20 clash will begin at 7:40pm AEST, broadcast live on Seven.

Originally scheduled to host the Swans at Marvel Stadium on Friday night, the Bombers will instead remain in Queensland and play their third consecutive game in the Sunshine State.

They'll look to avenge their three-point defeat to Sydney in round four and stay in touch with the top eight following Sunday's disappointing loss to GWS.

The club will provide ticketing info for its Queensland-based members shortly.
