Essendon Football Club is proud to announce it has surpassed the 80,000 member milestone for the 2021 season.
Eclipsing last year's total of 66,686, the Bombers’ current tally sits at 80,642 members.
Chief executive officer Xavier Campbell said the club was extremely grateful to its loyal membership base for its unwavering support throughout 2021.
“This milestone is a reflection of the profound support and commitment of each and every single one of our 80,642 members,” Campbell said.
“It’s been a challenging 18 months as we’ve all navigated testing times in an unprecedented landscape as we continue to collectively battle the pandemic. But right throughout, our passionate and loyal members have stood by us, cheering their team on from in the stands or at home, and for that we are immensely grateful.
“We ticked over 70,000 members in April, and to continue that positive momentum into July surpassing 80,000 members is significant.
“We believe we are at the beginning of what will be an exciting phase at the Essendon Football Club. The young talent on our list and the alignment and passion in our football program among players, staff and coaches is evident. And while we have a long way to go on-field to reach our goals, we are excited by what the future holds.
“Once again, we are humbled by the support shown by our members all across Australia and abroad.”
