McPhee vows to learn from the Cats

Adam McPhee today vowed that he and his teammates will bounce back from Sunday’s disappointing loss to Geelong and use the harrowing scoreline as a source of inspiration heading into this week’s match against Carlton.
""The best thing we can do is to learn from the match, rather than not thinking about it,” McPhee said.
“There were some good lessons to be learnt that we can take out of it and use for this week.
“Geelong were extremely skilful by hand and foot and that is something that we need to strive for.
“I think we need to get back to our structures and get back to what we know works for us and what has worked for the past couple of weeks.
""Whether we are in front or whether we are losing, we have to stick to our game plan and I think we went off that a little on the weekend.
“We are in a rebuilding phase with our game structures and the way we want to play. We took the game on yesterday and it didn’t come off, but for us to rebuild as a side, we need to do that.
""We need to stick to our structures that are going to win us games and develop us as a side in the long-term.”
Adamant the Bombers can reinstate their pre-season form this week, McPhee believes the loss will not shake the confidence of the younger players on the list.
“I don’t think that the game will really affect our younger guys too much,"" McPhee said.
“The good thing about football is being able to come out the next week and change the previous week’s result and that is what we have in front of us.
“We have shown throughout the pre-season that we have the ability to win and we just need to prove it on the field again this week.”
Despite the Bombers being committed to securing the four points against any side, McPhee admits there will be no win more satisfying than defeating long-standing rivals Carlton in what looms to be a blockbuster match at the MCG.
“We will approach this week like we do any other week and will go in there with a gameplan while making sure that we implement it as a unit,” McPhee said.
“We have always had good challenges with Carlton and we look forward to another one with them again this week.”
