Following media reports, Essendon Chief Operating Officer, Travis Auld, today confirmed that there had been no new coaching appointments at the Club.

""It is true that we are in discussions with a number of people about various coaching positions but, at this stage, no appointments have been made,"" he said.

""We will make an announcement about an appointment as soon as they are confirmed but, until then, there is nothing more to report.""

Essendon coach, Matthew Knights, has already confirmed that Gary O'Donnell will remain as an assistant coach in 2008.

There are three other coaching positions to be filled at Essendon including the role of Bendigo Bombers coach.
