After a strong start to his eleventh pre-season campaign veteran forward Jason Winderlich is not taking anything for granted.
Winderlich has been plagued with back and hamstring injuries over the last few seasons.
The 29-year-old showed his importance in 2013 with 17 goals from 12 matches.
The livewire forward has taken part in every session this pre-season after recently remaining in Melbourne while his senior teammates travelled to the US for a high altitude camp.
“My injury history with a few back operations and hamstring injuries in the last couple of years it was more important for me to stay back here and do more conditioning work,” Winderlich said.
“I have really enjoyed this pre-season, coming out to a new facility has been awesome and the time has gone so quick.”
“So far I have completed every session and now we head on a break and I am in a really good mindset.”

Winderlich said he had enjoyed working alongside the club’s younger players during December and was excited about what the remainder of the pre-season had in store.
“The November, December, January period is the most important time to get a good base in for fitness,” he said.
“After that it is more your footy skills that you want to concentrate on leading into the games.”
“We are really confident that we have a good game plan that has been put in place over the last few years and nothing has changed from that perspective.”
Winderlich has enjoyed working alongside the fresh faces at the club both in the playing and coaching ranks.
He noted the True Value Solar Centre had added another exciting element to the club’s preparations for the 2014 season.
