Zach Merrett has earned a perfect 10 and moved up to eighth position overall in the AFL Coaches Association's AFL Champion Player Award for his performance against Gold Coast.

The star midfielder led all comers for disposals (30), metres gained (478), inside 50s (six) and score involvements in the draw on Wednesday night to top the votes for the second consecutive week.

He was one of four Bombers to impress the coaches, alongside young guns Jordan Ridley (seven votes) and Andrew McGrath (six) and veteran David Zaharakis (two). 

The rise of McGrath and Ridley has been one of the stories of 2020, with the pair polling seven and five times respectively from 10 games.
