Essendon Football Club is proud to announce $31,624 has been raised for charity this year from Bomber Auctions- Essendon’s online auction channel through essendonfc.com.au.

The sales of Essendon’s player guernsey’s worn during the ANZAC Day clash, the Dreamtime at the ‘G game and the recent Round 11 Call to Arms game has combined to raise over $31,000 for respective charities.

The combined sales of the ANZAC Day guernsey’s raised $12,977 with all proceeds going to the Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL).

The ANZAC Day clash is a significant game on the fixture for both the Essendon and Collingwood Football Clubs, honouring those brave troops who fought- and continue to fight- for this proud nation.

In support of the Long Walk, $10,872 was raised and donated from the sale of the player worn guernsey’s during the Dreamtime at the ‘G clash between Essendon and Richmond in Round 9.

Legendary Bomber Michael Long made a stand for his people when he walked to Canberra in 2004 to meet the Prime Minister. Michael wanted to highlight the social inequities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians and Essendon is proud of its continued support for the Long Walk.

Essendon Football Club has recently proudly donated $7,775 to the Cancer Council of Victoria after the Call To Arms game between Essendon and Melbourne in Round 11.

The Call To Arms campaign encourages players, administrators and supporters around the country to wear a yellow armband to raise funds to treat, prevent and detect cancers in men.
The game is of particular importance for Essendon players and supporters following former premiership player Adam Ramanauskas’ battles with cancer.
