Essendon youngster Dyson Heppell says he is looking forward to developing his role to become an important part of the club's midfield brigade.

Heppell has moved away from the back linein the last few weeks lining up through the middle of the ground and said hehas enjoyed the new role.

“Half back is something that I do enjoy butI guess it is the next phase of development for myself to move into themidfield,” Heppell told Game Day on Channel Seven.

“As a junior I played mainly through themidfield.

Heppell said he learned plenty over thelast fortnight lining up against two quality opponents.

“Last week I had a bit of a go on TravisBoak and this week lined up against Joel Selwood which was a great experience.”
