Matthew Knights continues to assemble his off-field team for 2008 with the Club today announcing the appointment of  Mark Cera as rehabilitation coach and Bendigo Bombers' fitness coach for season 2008. Cera has most recently been working at Guangdong Institute of Sport in China where he was contracted to train a variety of athletes and coach the coaches in scientific training methods.

""Recovery and rehabilitation is a very important part of team preparation so we have made an investment in getting that side of things as well managed as possible,"" Essendon chief operating officer Travis Auld said. ""Mark has a wealth of experience and we think he will add substantially to the fitness staff we have supporting our players.""

He has previously worked for AFL club St Kilda for three years and has worked from 1994-98 North Melbourne Giants basketball operations manager and fitness coordinator.

The appointment follows yesterday's announcement that Ashley Prescott will join the club as development coach / match day bench coach. Precott joins Gary O'Donnell on Matthew Knights' four man coaching panel. The remaining two positions are still to be filled.
