The AFL has released the final selection order for the National Draft on Sunday, November 25th. The selections were finalised after all sides submitted their final pre-draft lists to the AFL at 2.00pm today. Essendon's first selection in the 2001 National Draft will be number 18 with its remaining selections - if utilised - being 31, 34, 47, 50, 64, 77 and 83. Hawthorn has the first selection in this year's draft followed by St Kilda and West Coast.
Premiership forward Gary Moorcroft today signed a one-year deal that will see him remain with the Bombers in season 2002. Moorcroft informed the club of his decision just prior to the 2pm deadline when final club lists are required to be with the AFL. The Bombers submitted a final list of 30 to the AFL today after de-listing Judd Lalich, Daniel McAlister and Michael Davis. Michael Long was also taken off the list after announcing his retirement on Monday. The Bombers have one listed veteran and that is Steven Alessio.
