Laycock ankle setback
Essendon ruckman Jason Laycock has suffered a pre-season setback and will undergo arthroscopic surgery on an ankle to remove a small piece of floating bone. The surgery will take place early next week and it will sideline Laycock for the next four weeks, meaning he faces an uphill battle to be ready for the NAB Cup opener against Brisbane.

Laycock suffered from an ankle injury as a junior but this is the first time he has experienced any difficulties with it since he arrived at Essendon. The latest operation comes on top of his post-season knee surgery and he now faces a race against time to be fit for the NAB Cup clash with Brisbane at Carrara on Friday, February 24th.
IN other injury news, Jason Johnson is recovering well from foot surgery and should return to full training in the next couple of weeks. Jay Nash is back in full training having recovered from a broken wrist while Richard Cole is another week away following recent knee surgery.
Tickets are on sale from today for the Bombers exhibition match against the Swans at the North Sydney Oval at Ticketek. The game will be a great opportunity for Essendon fans in NSW to track how the Bombers are travelling this pre-season. While for Queensland fans, tickets for the NAB Cup week one match against Brisbane at Carrara will go on sale on Friday 3 February at Ticketmaster.
