Essendon's Ricky Dyson has sustained facial injuries after being assaulted in Rouse Street, Port Melbourne overnight. The Club understands Ricky was alone and waiting for a taxi at around midnight when the incident took place. The injuries sustained will not affect his pre-season training. Police are now investigating the matter.
De-listed Demon and former Essendon Premiership player Chris Heffernan has been granted permission by the AFL to commence training with the Bombers next Monday. Essendon is considering picking up 26-year-old Heffernan in the upcoming national or pre-season draft.
