Essendon members know how important their support is to the financial stability of the club – without it clubs simply can’t survive. And Essendon Football Club is also fully aware that to purchase a membership and pay up front is not always convenient at this time of year. With Christmas and school holidays approaching, it can make things tough. So the Bombers have set up a couple of payment options for 2003 that will ease the burden for members.

For renewing members the news is excellent. You can renew your 2002 membership and reserved seats for an initial payment of just 10% of the total price. The Bombers will then withdraw the remaining 90% from your credit card in mid-February. For example, if you are a Bronze Adult 11 member with a premium A reserved seat, the total cost is $287.90. Under this new system your up front payment will be just $28.79 with the balance not required until mid-February. You can enjoy the Christmas and the summer break safe in the knowledge your membership is secure. And you won’t have to wait until February to receive your membership card and kit – this will be distributed within four weeks of receiving your 10% deposit.

And Essendon hasn’t forgotten about members purchasing a brand new membership for 2003. A five-part payment plan has been implemented for those members who would like to spread their payments out over a period of time. The first 20% installment will be due February 15th with the final 20% due June 15th. For example, a new member who purchases a Bronze Adult 11 with a premium A reserved seat (Total cost $287.90) will pay $57.58 per month for five months.

“It is just something we wanted to offer our supporters to make the renewal and purchase process a little easier,” Essendon chief executive Peter Jackson said. “A lump sum payment with the Christmas holidays approaching might not be convenient so we thought it might help members if we deferred payments. The bottom line is that it gives our members options and they certainly deserve that – they provide fantastic support for this club.”
