In a move that will be the biggest individual annual clubsponsorship in AFL history, Essendon has signed a three-year deal withleading electronics giant Samsung.
 
The benchmark sponsorship will see Samsung as the club’s majorpartner in 2009 and provide exciting opportunities for eachorganisation to grow their fan base.
 
“Samsung has supported Essendon over the past two years and we arepleased they are seeing the value of their investment returned and haveupgraded as our principal sponsor. It is a major boost and show ofsupport for our club,” Essendon managing director, Peter Jackson, saidtoday.

“Essendon and Samsung are exciting brands that share the values ofsuccess and teamwork and are committed to delivering high performancewhich makes this partnership a perfect fit. We encourage our membersand fans to support Samsung in return for their support of our players.

“The AFL environment is becoming increasingly competitive -especially with two new clubs joining the league - so this Samsungpartnership will underpin our business for the next three years andfurther build our reputation as one of Australia’s most respectedsporting club.”

Kurt Jovais, Director of Marketing, Samsung Australia, said thatSamsung is further strengthening its sponsorship portfolio to alignwith one of the most successful AFL clubs.

The sponsorship agreement will see Samsung on the front and back of the Essendon guernsey from 2009-2011.
